PENTA Ltd. was founded in 1990 by a group of friends and colleagues with a desire for professional integrity, sound risk-taking and economic independence. Starting as a small family business, our company has developed over the years into a stable, continuously developing and respected large company within the Hungarian construction industry.

Our range of activities is very broad and is summarised below:

MANUFACTURE OF STEEL STRUCTURES

Penta Ltd. has a 3838-4 welding shop and a 1090 EXC3 certified steel structure fabrication unit at its Göd site, where we can also manufacture from carbon steel, stainless and acid-resistant materials.  The production plant consists of several units, a thermal cutting shop, a cutting shop, a surface preparation and assembly shop and a welding shop, so that we can carry out the entire production process on our own site. Our production machinery includes a 500-tonne edge bender, a 2500-mm rolling machine, a laser cutting machine, a mobile welding robot suitable for series production, a lock-off machine and a curving machine. Our structural steel fabrication staff are highly qualified certified welders, assistant engineers and engineers. With their expertise, the capabilities of our steelworking machinery are extremely wide-ranging. Our fabrications include a variety of special steel structures, 750/400 KV electrical substation construction, conductor support columns and support structures, multi-storey stair systems, cantilevered walkways, acid-resistant steel pipe networks, ladders and cover plates, lamp posts, earth support systems for wastewater treatment plants. We have also built district heating pipelines, factory buildings and steel-framed office buildings in the last 5 years. We can also provide our products with painted, sintered and galvanized corrosion protection coatings on request. The success of our work to date has been driven by our commitment to our customers and our professionalism.


CONCRETE POLISHING (HTC SUPERFLOOR TECHNOLOGY)

Our company has been using concrete grinding technology since 2012. HTC Superfloor technology has a history of several decades. The Swedish manufacturer's concept was to create long-lasting concrete floors with a unique appearance, excellent in both industrial and residential environments, resistant to wear and environmental influences.

The key to the rise of polished concrete flooring lies in the simplicity of the technology.

Using high performance 4-disc grinders with diamond tools, we grind the top 2-4 mm of the existing concrete, resulting in a heavy-duty, homogeneous surface. The concrete is further strengthened with special materials, surface defects are filled with a repair material developed for this purpose, and the surface is then impregnated. The final surface is polished to a matt, satin or glossy finish according to the customer's requirements. This type of flooring is not coated, so there is no part of it that can pick up. 

The specificity of the HTC technology is that the entire work process is based on dry technology, the sanding machines are connected to a high power vacuum cleaner so that there is no airborne dust, the work can therefore be carried out in working industrial facilities without stopping production. For HTC Superfloor concrete floors, an ESD antistatic certified surface is available. 

Our experience in the application of HTC Superfloor technology is a guarantee for the renovation of concrete surfaces.


GREEN AND BLUE INVESTMENTS

Our company is committed to investing in renewable resources and implementing green and blue projects that use and conserve water. We are constantly upgrading our fleet of electric vehicles and equipment to ensure that projects are carried out in an environmentally friendly manner.


OUR FLEET OF MACHINES

One of our company's great strengths is that we have all the physical assets needed to carry out our activities. We have our own asphalt mixing plant and a fleet of trucks to service our jobs, so we are not at the mercy of the haulage contractors on the market.

We have a fleet of 34 trucks, including 2-axle, 3-axle, 4-axle and semi-trailers, as well as trailers. The majority of our 3-axle trucks are equipped with cranes, allowing for self-loading.  Most of our trucks are Euro 6 rated.

We can process the asphalt produced by our asphalt mixing plant with three machine chains if required.

We have 5 Vögele finishers and 14 rollers, including an oscillating one, to fully meet today's trends while reducing the environmental impact.

We also rely on our own capacities in the field of public works, with rubber-tired, rubber-tired and chain-tired rotary excavators ranging from 2.7 to 32 tonnes, and almost 50 machines in these categories, some of which are Stage IV-V rated.

Front-end loaders and combined tractor-based machines are indispensable for our work, we have more than 30 of them. In addition, we also have specialised trucks and equipment (sprinkler trucks, broom trucks, branch crushers) that can be used for both construction and operation.

  • 2 Liebherr truck cranes (35 t and 70 t)
  • 1 dozer
  • 1 grader

Several compaction tools, vibrators, tamping jacks, power generators and road boring equipment help us in our work.

Our colleagues use modern vehicles, including 12 fully electric cars, which help us to protect the environment.

ASPHALT PRODUCTION, ASPHALT MIXING PLANT

Our company has been involved in road construction and road rehabilitation since the very beginning. Our company has more than 30 years of professional experience in the Hungarian road construction sector and has been present in the asphalt industry for more than 20 years. This solid background enables us to provide reliable, quality work from small road renovations to larger projects and new road construction.

We have had our own asphalt mixing plant at our Göd site since 2002, which was expanded and modernised in 2015. The mixing machine has a nominal capacity of 160 tonnes per hour. The machine can produce 2 tonnes of asphalt per mixing cycle. A sufficient supply of raw material is ensured by 6 pre-feeders and 2 electrically heated bitumen tanks of 60 m3 in a stationary arrangement.

In our asphalt mixing plant, we introduced a factory production control system according to EN 13108-21:2006 in 2013. Penta Ltd.'s EC Production Control Certificate of Conformity certifies that the factory production control system for road asphalt mixtures produced in the mixing plant in accordance with EN 13108-1:2006 complies with the requirements of EN 13108-21:2006.

The upgraded asphalt mixing machine meets all the technical, economic and environmental requirements of today's world. In the near future, further improvements of the mixing machine, such as the recycling of reclaimed asphalt or the addition of foamed bitumen dosing (for the production of reduced temperature asphalt), are planned to further improve environmental protection and emission reduction. 

As well as producing hot mix asphalt for our own work, we also produce asphalt for external sale. We also sell special binder cold asphalt and paving mixes. Cold mix asphalt allows for easy, weather-independent, quick repair of potholes and other small surface pavements. For example, resurfacing after road breakdowns, winter potholing, garage driveways, entrances, garden paths.


ROAD CONSTRUCTION (CONSTRUCTION OF ASPHALT AND CONCRETE ROADS)

The high growth in motorisation is accompanied by the need to develop and renovate transport infrastructure. Our company has also recognised the urban development and transport needs of the modern world, and this is how one of its main activities, road construction, which is often closely linked to public works, came into being. In order to avoid compromises in the quality of the materials used, we have our own asphalt mixing plant in Göd, which serves our construction sites and external partners. 

The expertise and active participation of our staff, who have extensive experience in the preparation and execution of asphalt works, and our modern machinery with intelligent control systems, ensure that the work is carried out to everyone's satisfaction. 

We have a wide range of references, which proves that we are equally interested in improving the road network of a small town or rebuilding the most challenging and professionally challenging intersections in Budapest. Our experts are equally at home in urban road construction, in the construction of suburban link roads or the reconstruction of single-digit main roads.  We are open to technological innovations, as demonstrated by the continuous development of our machinery and equipment.


CONSTRUCTION OF SEWERAGE NETWORKS (WASTE WATER AND STORM WATER)

The majority of our civil engineering work involves the construction of sewers for waste water and storm water. Sewer construction is a highly skilled and experienced job due to the depths of the trenches.

Our work is supported by modern, well-maintained, high-performance rotary excavators, front-end loaders and compaction equipment, equipped with the adapters and accessories required to perform the task in hand and fully equipped to do it, in several locations at the same time. Total safety is always a priority in our civil engineering work. We have a sufficient number of regularly maintained large-deck excavators in various sizes, owned and maintained by us, to ensure maximum safety and at the same time speed up the progress of the work. 

In addition to laying gravity sewer pipes of various diameters and materials (DN200-DN2000 mm), our references include the construction of pressurized systems and vacuum sewer networks. Our skilled plastic welding colleagues work with the most modern butt and electrofusion welding equipment.

In case of high groundwater levels, we can dewater the working trenches in-house using our state-of-the-art groundwater level lowering vacuum chambers, which can be deployed on several sites at the same time.


SEWER RECONSTRUCTION (WITH OR WITHOUT EXCAVATION)

Since the mid-1990s, we have been continuously involved in the reconstruction of the sewer network in the capital. We are carrying out the reconstruction of outdated brick and bauxite concrete sewers and the reconstruction without excavation (NO DIG) as a pre-qualified contractor of the Budapest Sewage Works Ltd.

The special nature of the reconstruction works is that it is necessary to ensure the continuous operation of the sewer network during the works. Implementation will be ensured by operating temporary sewage interceptors and installing temporary drainage systems or by diverting water through the existing network.

The main objective of the sewerage network upgrades is generally to replace obsolete pipes with new, modern pipes made of a wide variety of materials, including PVC, reinforced concrete, glass-fibre reinforced polyester and, in some cases, natural clay, depending on the installation environment. However, there may be other reasons for the reconstruction of the networks, such as the need to expand the capacity of the sewerage network or to relocate the pipes in connection with other related works, or even the reconstruction of a public space.


CONSTRUCTION OF WASTEWATER AND STORMWATER TRANSFER STATIONS

From 2013 onwards, our company has been constructing the gravity and pressurised sewerage networks for the construction of the interceptor structures in-house, providing a full range of services to meet all customer requirements.

The installation of manholes, sometimes up to 6-8 metres deep, is carried out by a skilled team of professionals using state-of-the-art equipment.  

In addition to the structural construction of the shafts and manholes, we also install the mechanical equipment. The stainless steel structural elements are manufactured in our workshop in Göd. The on-site assembly of the structures is carried out by our own specialists.


CONSTRUCTION OF DRINKING WATER AND INDUSTRIAL WATER PIPELINES

Our civil engineering work also includes the construction of drinking water supply and drinking water quality improvement projects. In this field, too, we provide our customers with a full range of services, whether they require the construction of large-diameter collection, distribution and filling pipelines or smaller networks with connections in an urban environment. Our references for the construction of fire water storage tanks and fire hydrants testify to our industrial plumbing capabilities.


HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING (CONSTRUCTION OF EARTHWORKS AND CONCRETE STRUCTURES)

By the beginning of the 21st century, with the significant increase in the level of public utility supply, water construction and water management works were again in the foreground. Our Company is also involved in the implementation of these tasks.

Our references include dredging, hydraulic engineering works, reservoir and dam construction, which, in addition to the recreational use of our living waters, also allow us to achieve the objectives of rational management of water resources. 

Our fleet includes the heavy-duty crawler excavators needed to carry out this type of work, as well as the loaders and trucks and compactors required for handling large volumes of material. We have a highly skilled and qualified workforce to ensure the professional completion of hydraulic engineering projects.


CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION OF DRINKING WATER AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

As we have indicated before, the majority of our civil engineering work is water and sewerage works. As a general contractor, we have a systems engineering background, so in addition to designing and constructing pipeline networks, we are also skilled in the complete design and construction of plants at their end points. We have contributed to the reduction of the domestic environmental burden through the construction of a number of wastewater treatment plants of variable capacity and with technology appropriate to their capacity, which are still operating efficiently today. We have also been involved in the upgrading of plants operating alongside greenfield projects, where we can upgrade the treatment plant and even expand or modify the technology at the same time. We have improved the security of supply of several municipalities by building and upgrading drinking water treatment plants in recent years.


CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION OF LANDFILLS

In parallel with the development of environmental protection, the construction of modern solid waste landfills has also become important in our country. Our activities also include the construction of these facilities. In the design of regional landfills, special attention is paid to the prevention of soil contamination, and to this end, insulated solid waste storage and leachate basins are being constructed. Waste collection islands and waste treatment centres will be built to promote selective waste collection.

Landfills will be recultivated to reintegrate abandoned non-hazardous municipal landfills. In accordance with the reclamation plans and permits, we are responsible for shaping the waste body, laying a layer of insulation, spreading humus, grassing (to prevent erosion and create green areas) and installing stormwater drainage. As described in the permit, subsidence monitoring points were constructed to monitor subsequent subsidence and monitoring wells were constructed to monitor groundwater. Belt and siltation ditches were constructed to drain stormwater. Where there was a potential for gas formation, gas ventilation wells and gas flares were installed.


PAVING (LANDSCAPING, DECORATIVE PAVING, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL STONE PAVING) 

Starting in the late 1990s and early 2000s, there is a growing need to give function to public spaces, to make them unique and talkative, and to create liveable neighbourhoods. Our company has been involved in the reconstruction of public spaces, squares and main squares in Budapest and the countryside from the very beginning, in order to meet the needs of our clients and to realise the ideas of the designers, and to make the living environment of the people living there more beautiful and liveable. 

We have a great deal of experience in the field of paving, which was very popular in the early days, but we also have experience and numerous references in the construction of natural stone paving, which is becoming increasingly popular today, and we are able to adapt to changes in customer requirements. The complex paving patterns, unique stone elements, plant boxes, seating areas, fountains, street furniture, all of which are the result of the designers' ideas and complexity, provide our company with a constant professional challenge, and our expertise in this field is also backed up by tangible results. In addition to pavement renovation, we are the first to have gained experience in the implementation of green and blue technological innovations for complex urban space reconstruction.


CONSTRUCTION OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS

Our telecoms business is mainly focused on fixed and wireless telecommunications, including the deployment of FTTH networks, IPTV services, 5G mobile networks, microwave connectivity and WiFi backbone networks. We also participate in nationwide fibre network deployments and SZIP projects. Our Telecom Main Engineering Department has its own specialists and modern equipment to ensure reliable service to our customers.
Our services also include structured network systems, alarm and fire alarm systems, and CCTV camera installation. We aim to provide our partners with turnkey solutions from feasibility studies to implementation and maintenance. As a general contractor, we undertake the complete management of projects under the supervision of our responsible technical managers
Our company has the necessary technological and quality expertise and the qualifications required by the electricity companies. We are certified as "Recommended Suitable" by Magyar Telekom and as a qualified supplier by Huawei Technologies Hungary.
